Do you have a few hours to spare to help improve Marple? We are a small friendly group that always welcomes new people. Membership is free. Anyone can attend our meetings, usually the third Tuesday of the month at 19.45 in the Samuel Oldknow (please check our news pages for the date and location of the next one), and also for our regular work days and trips to visit other stations and Friends Groups. To find out more about the group and volunteering with us, please email [email protected]. You can also ring the Chair Peter Black on 07505 22 1405. If you are thinking about coming we will make sure someone has a chat with you beforehand and greets you at the meeting or work party.
In 2024 we celebrated the 10th anniversary of our group, worked with local schools, gardened, painted, provided art work and history panels, promoted trains, lobbied for station improvements, held work parties and visited other station adopters at Hebden Bridge and Irlam - with lots of coffee, cake and the odd beer.
